The Rules

Two players sit either side of a table. The aim of the game is to take it in turns to use one finger to flick a match box once across the table trying to make it stop and slightly hang off the opposing players edge of the table.

If you do this you score a try and get 5 points. Once you have scored a try, you get the chance to score 2 points from a conversion.

The player who scored the try puts the match box up on its end back on their side of the table and tries to flick the box over the opposing players hands. The player who conceded the try makes rugby goal posts with their hands by pointing both their index fingers down onto the table and joining their thumbs together in the middle. The box has to fly over their thumbs and down through the gap the opposing player to score 2 points. If you hit the players face and then the box falls into their lap you score a bonus point. If the box lands on the floor on it side the player who took the shot scores 3 extra points. If it lands upright, that player scores 5 extra points. If it lands flat no extra points are scored. If you flick the box and it lands on its side or upright over the edge of the opposing players side you score double points (10).

Box Infringements:
-Touching the box when its on the table, only flick it from where it rests on your turn or when you have to place it back on the table when it falls off.
-If you flick the box off the edge (sides) of the table. (Except when playing on a round table – Players must place markers to highlight edge of play.)
-If the box falls on the floor.

Every box infringement conceded gives the opposing player a penalty conversion kick for 2-3 points.

3 points for a match win, you score a bonus point on the league table if you lose the match but score over 45 points and you score no points if you lose and score less than 45 points.

First player to 50 points wins!

Happy Flicking!
